Weddings under $10K near Houston: Plan Your Dream Day at The Laundry Event Hall

Trying to plan your dream wedding but want to keep it within a reasonable budget? Seeing l on Pintrest and wanting to incorporate it but realizing it keeps adding up? Here are some practical ways to plan a wedding under $10k near Houston. First, start by limiting your guest list to those that are nearest and dearest. Having a smaller guest list will let you book a smaller venue. Small weddings are rising in popularity to both keep costs down and to keep your special day intimate with just your closest family and friends. The Laundry Event Hall is the perfect small venue for weddings from 30- 130. Smaller venues are usually less costly than larger venues and our venue fees start at only $1400 for reception-only space or $3000 (weekday cost) for the entire buidling including the ceremoney space, grooms room, bridal suite, and reception hall. After your venue, your catering and alcohol will be your next biggest expense. Some venues provide all-inclusive options, but you are probably better to DIY if money is your biggest concern. However, if you would prefer the less-stress option, the all-inclusive package is the way to go. The venue typically has good deals with their vendors so bundling can sometimes be the pretty cost comparable to DIY. Catering costs in Brenham can vary from $15 per person to over $75/ person. So by cutting down on your guest count you can save a load. Also, finding a BYOB venue like The Laundry Event Hall can save up to 50% on your alcohol cost.
Next, keep your decor simple and have your friends and family help out in this department. Often there is a creative florist in your friend group (or wanna be florist who would love the opportunity to put your florals together). There are many youtube tutorials on how to create beautiful floral arrangements and Costco or Trader Joes has wonderful and affordable flowers. But make sure this duty is not left up to the bride on her wedding day (you will be stressed with all of the other details). If you prefer to bring in a local florist, we have some very good vendors with table florals and bouquets starting around $125/ table. The Laundry Event Hall provides some beautiful bud vases and candles as part our decor that is free for the couple to use.
Another way to save a little is to have a friend of famly member serve as your officiant and/or DJ. Officiants start around $200 and DJs start around $600 and can be upwards of $2000. If you have a friend that is good with creating a playlist and making a few annoucements, we have the sound equipment you can easily hook up too. (Just make sure they are not drinking heavily!) One place we do not suggest trying to get a friend or family member to do is photography. You don't want to risk not having great photos of your special day, so we always suggest having a professional do this. However, you don't need the photographer there all day. Have them take some ceremony and family pics and then some reception pics, but limit their hours to save money. We have some great local photographers that start around $250/ hr.

Venue (weekday)- $3000 (including ceremony space, bride and groom suite, reception area)
Catering- $15/ person x 100= $1500 (usually includes tea and water)
Bartender- $75/ hr x 4 hrs= $300
Alcohol- $10/ person for beer/ wine x 100= $1000
Florals- $400 (DIY bouquets and use our silk florals on tables)
Cake- $300 (HEB makes great cakes!)
Officiant- Friend or Family
DJ- $600 (or maybe use a musically talented friend)
Security (required for over 70 people with alcohol)- $200
Event Insurance (required)- $125
Guest book/ misc signage- $50
Cleaning fee- $200
Day-of coordinator- Included!
Tips- $500 (don't forget to tip your caterer, DJ, officiant, and venue staff)

These are generalized numbers and on the lower end but with our list of great local vendors and some helpful friends and family it can be done!
